Engine - Crankshaft and pistons out

The bottom side of the engine.

The oil pump out.

There is a lot of soot added to the crankshaft. Typical of an overheated engine.

Connecting rod bearing caps numbered before to be removed.

To loose the crankshaft bolt I used the same sequence used for the camshaft bolts.

Now the pistons can be removed too.

Engine - Engine out and some clean job

Ian going in, engine going out.

The very dirty engine.

Engine without flywheel.

Engine without oil cooler and filter.

I try to clean it with some solvents but nothing! the best way was to use the drill.

Engine - Cylinder head job

The relese order to loose the camshaft without damage it.

The bearing caps are numbered (0,1,2,3) and should by assembly at the same position.

I didn't replace the taques and I put numbers to assembly them at same position.

This is an intake clean and polished with a Dremel tool.

And this is clean only with carb cleaner.

Here is the cylinder head very clean an plane, with the surface polished with sandpaper over a glass table. At the back - the tool needed to casting new valves.

Engine - Cylinder head out

 Intake and exhaust manifold out.

Cylinder head intake very dirty conditions.

Before removing the cylinder head, the water connection should be removed.

Under the valve cover are located the ten head bolts.

Should follow the next sequence in reverse order to release the cylinder head.

After a few gentle strokes (by hand or wood hammer), the cylinder head will by released.

Here is the engine block and gasket with some cooler loop holes completely plugged.
